Robert Mio Andrus

Robert started in the entertainment industry as an Actor over 15 years ago. He has since been a very successful producer with his films being picked up and sold by major production companies. He has recently took on the name of CASTING ASSOCIATE for the top casting company in Utah, Jeff Johnson's Casting. His goal is to help train Utah Actors so when SAG or Independent films cast from UTAH, we have professional trained PROs ready to be CAST in these productions. He wants nothing more than for his students and Utah to succeed. Robert has loved film from his youth. He quotes " Television and film ignited my imagination as a child. I loved the story telling and the vicarious escapism. I found myself wishing to be in those worlds, then I discovered I could be. I auditioned for church and school programs and discovered yet another love: audiences. Performing and creating have since driven my life’s passion as an actor, producer, screenwriter and casting associate. I have followed my dream and now want to help others to do the same."

We will choose one to work through production. In this course you will learn the art of filmmaking and take your filmmaking skills to the next level.   • Sue Rowe has been acting for 25 years from Los Angeles to Boston. She grew up in Kaysville, Utah where she started her acting career on stage with the Children’s Theater department at Davis High School. When she graduated, she moved to Boston, MA., and fell in love with film acting. She has been involved in numerous film productions behind the camera and in front. In 2006 she began writing, producing and directing films. Her short filmBlutiful, she produced and acted in, won “Best Film” at theGloria Film Festival. Her Film "White Wings" had ten nominations and three wins. Sue founded Utah Filmmakers Meet and Greet (UTFMG) a networking group that introduces local producers, writers, directors, actors and crew members to one another, and helps to connect Utah filmmakers for projects.   • SWAT Team Tactics for FILM and TELEVISION and THEATER

    This course is designed for the ACTOR, DIRECTOR, PRODUCER, EDITOR, and WRITER to help you in preparing for your future film roles, Directing a film that has gun use of any kind, military or special forces, a producer that wants to oversee his project for production quality, an editor that wants to make sure he uses the shots that will sell the scene, a writer putting words to a hostage or rescues scene.You will be using non- operative weaponry used in actual task force operations. You will be trained how to assemble, load, correct posture, how to hold and carry out rescue missions by sweeping the building and other exercises. This is one workshop you will not want to miss! Weapons Technique and SWAT Tactics for Film is a Ten week training program. The course provides instruction and practical exercises in basic weapons handling, safety, advanced techniques and tactical movement with a focus on weapons and tactics featured in the genres of Law Enforcement and Crime, Military, and Westerns. Participants will receive classroom instruction, mixed with hands-on practice. You will use various weapons systems in a variety of scenarios, some of which will be filmed and critiqued. Once the basic techniques are established, the focus will shift to an analysis of realism versus theatrics, and achieving the proper balance to best advance the objectives of your scene.     • SHAWN STAFFORD
    SHAWN STAFFORD has worked for more than twenty years in the field of Federal Law Enforcement. He served as a Federal Police Officer for fifteen years and held the position of SWAT Team Operator and Training Instructor. He managed a quarterly firearms training program for more than 100 Police Officers and Special Agents and developed and implemented numerous training courses, including one of the nation’s first active shooter response tactics programs which has been provided to hundreds of Law Enforcement Officers throughout the United States. Prior to SHAWN’S Law Enforcement career, he spent many hours in the fields and mountains of the Appalachians, hunting and developing basic marksmanship skills before enjoying success as a competitive shooter throughout his college years. He continues to compete on a recreational level, provides gunsmithing services, and prefers Cowboy Action Shooting and repairing and shooting the guns of the Old West. Shawn has more recently entered the world of acting and film making through an association with Sue Rowe Studios and has appeared in various Short Films, Commercials and TV Pilots.

    In this workshop you will learn the basics of handling a sword. Our goal in this first course will be aimed at learning the ground laying foundation of Sword Work for Film and Stage Fight Choreography. By the end of this course you will have the gained proper handling techniques and be ready to start further into your training in medieval sword play.

  • Jefferson Crow has been studying and working as a martial artist for over 15 years. His focus has been on Historical Eastern Martial Arts or Medieval European Sword Play. He has studied a wide range of sword work including Viking Swords and shields, German Longsword, period Rapier and Sabre. He has developed a passion for film and television fight scenes. He has studied them at length as they often provide color and counterpoint to the stories being told. Its more than just wielding a sword and clanking them together. He found passion and purpose in each fight scene that added to the overall vision of the story. One of his favorite things to see in a fight scene is real documented techniques being used to effect. He claims that sometimes just the action of properly drawing a weapon can tell you volumes about a character. Jefferson can't wait to share his knowledge and love for fight scenes with other actors, directors and filmmakers so that he can help continue to train and bring authenticity to projects and realism to actors wanting to help carry on the legacy of days past.

  • Hailing from San Antonio, Texas, Jenny Krompel has enjoyed success as a voice over artist, actor, and filmmaker. From an early age, Jenny gravitated towards and excelled in various areas of performance art; she landed her first commercial at age 8 for the Girl Scouts of America and filled much of her teen and college years with theatre, dance and classical guitar. In 2008, she started 'Voice Over Services by Jenny' and was immediately hired to provide narration services for the first multilingual wine review and wine education blog. Over the years, Jenny's voice has been heard across the globe in narration, commercial, animation, video game, interactive voice response, on-hold, podcasts, book trailers, PSA's, industrial, mobile apps, political, e-learning and documentary. She also has been cast in an animated series titled 'The B Brothers' along side many legendary film and voice actors and she was the casting and voice over director for the MMORPG game tilted 'Legends of Etherell'.

    Yoga for actors will help you develop a control with movement and breath. It can help to bring you an awareness of you bodies physically and emotionally. Bringing yourself to awareness will give you the ability to choose how you perform as an artist. It will carry over into your every day life. Actors need to be able to use all of their faculties to be in their body. Yoga helps one to be present with their body and what’s going on with it. It’s also a great tool to rid stuff,  release tension, to release and to clear. Do you have to be super flexible to do yoga?  NO YOGA is weightlifting with stretching. It works on physical strength and helps with your flexibility. You don't have to be a particular size or shape to do YOGA. It's for MEN and WOMEN with the desire to center and find an inner strength that will leave you open to access a higher power of your individual creativity... STARTING SOON
